Guest Blogger: Musings from The First Born

The 9-year-old:
When I grow up, if I’m rich, I’m not going to buy a big house that I can’t afford to get furniture for. I’m going to buy a medium house with a LOT of land. And on that land I’m going to build an ice rink.

(Mom asks, “What’s a medium house? Like ours?”)

No. Our house is too small for a rich person.

My parents’ blessing – Friends who came to their aid with steam vacuums and advice on how to remove zinc oxide from carpeting after my youngest brother schmeared an entire tube of Desitin all over the floor of his room. It didn’t work. Man, if I had done that, I’d be grounded from the wii for like ten years.

Why think big when you can think medium? Hilarious! And sweet too :)

    Thanks Jacob!

I like your priorities … definitely an ice rink, and medium means less to have to clean.

And about being grounded from the Wii at home, could you go use it at a friends?

  3. Stephanie Stussman says:

An ice rink, eh? You'd better be prepared to have Dad over to play hockey all the time!

    Good plans!

  4. Deb and David says:

Ingrid, he has figured that out already! He runs to the neighbors often.

And yes, a smaller house could mean less surface area to spread petroleum based products. Though hopefully the red head will have grown out of his destructive phase by then.

And Steph, any homes our boys have someday BETTER have room for us!
