In light of the monsoon that hit New Jersey yesterday, we took the boys to the movies. We saw Hop. My review? … eh. But the boys loved it. The film appealed to their sense of wonder and scatological humor. (The main character, a bunny, poops jellybeans.)
Well, my sons will likely be pooping Starbursts, Skittles and Jujy Fruits later today; we went a little nuts on the candy.
I’m not ashamed to admit that I took a cue from my childhood. Before we bought our tickets, I stopped at CVS and loaded up on treats to sneak into the theater. What would have cost upwards of $20 to buy at the cinema, cost $5.50.
As my oldest declared when I shared my thrifty trick, “Wow! You are a super saver!” Thank you, son. That’s almost as nice as when you said I should be a backup dancer on Glee.
